Haitian-American vocalist Tyreek McDole is one of the most compelling new voices in jazz. The Florida-born, New York-based baritone made an immediate impression on his 2025 Artwork Records debut, Open Up Your Senses, an artistic statement that pushes the jazz tradition forward with bold, distinctive energy.

 

In November 2023, Tyreek took first place at the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, joining a lineage of standout winners that includes Samara Joy and Jazzmeia Horn, and becoming the second male winner in the competition's history. His competitive pedigree dates back to 2018, when he won the Outstanding Vocalist Award at Jazz at Lincoln Center's prestigious Essentially Ellington National Competition.

McDole has shared the stage with an impressive roster of musicians, including Theo Croker, NEA Jazz Master Gary Bartz, Miki Yamanaka, Mike King, Rodney Whitaker, Winard Harper, Marcus Printup, Eric Reed, Carl Allen, Jeff Goldblum, Nick Jonas, Victor Goines, and Joey Alexander.

 

Tyreek received a degree in jazz performance from The Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Now 26, he continues to build on the critical acclaim of his debut with Chroma— produced by Theo Croker and due on Artwork Records in November 2026.

With a voice steeped in warmth, gravity, and soul, McDole creates performances that are both intimate and expansive — honoring tradition while inviting listeners toward reflection, healing, and shared imagination.
