Shreds & Patches Theater Company invites audiences to take flight in their upcoming production of Peter/Wendy, Jeremy Bloom’s reimagining of J.M. Barrie’s beloved classic. Stripping the story down to its emotional essence, Bloom’s adaptation captures the wonder, longing, and bittersweet truths at the heart of Peter Pan’s world.
In this lyrical, atmospheric interpretation of Peter Pan, Peter lures Wendy away from her nursery to the magical world of Neverland, where she joins his adventures with Tinker Bell, Tiger Lily, and the menacing Captain Hook. This inventive adaptation pays homage to the darker themes of J. M. Barrie's original, mesmerizing audiences of all ages. The result is a theatrical experience that’s both familiar and startlingly fresh.
Shreds & Patches Theater Company is dedicated to the undoing of expectation, excavating festivity from daily life through performance and decoration to engender playful imagining and meaningful reflection. The company is made up of UVA Wise alumni, including professional actors and technical crew members, alongside current UVA Wise students.
