Dave & Dave: The Battle of the Daves is a genre-bending musical performance that combines refined virtuosity with sharp, understated humor, inspired by the late Victor Borge. The two performers, Dave Shenton (piano/violin) and Dave Eggar (cello/piano), engage in a dynamic musical exchange, each pushing the other to greater heights of creativity and skill, resulting in a hilarious, virtuosic & original concert experience. At the end of each performance the audience ultimately crowns a winner, following an evening of breathtaking musicianship, clever comedy, and a Star Wars inspired duel.
Cellist and five-time Grammy-nominated composer Dave Eggar has appeared as a featured solo performer at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Barbican Center London, the Sydney Opera House, Aspen Music Festival, Lincoln Center and more. His mission to “not just cross over, but to cross through” multiple genres of music is apparent with all of his releases. Whether it’s classical, reggae, bluegrass, jazz, pop, or world music, he finds a common voice within his musical vocabulary and introduces it with his own unique and imaginative vision.
Dave Shenton is a violinist, pianist, composer, arranger, and producer whose artistry transcends genres and boundaries. With a rare versatility and unmatched musicianship, he brings passion, precision, and creativity to every performance and project. Whether on stage, in the studio, or behind the score, David’s work reflects a mastery that has captivated audiences and collaborators around the globe.
